Patrice Palacio is a contemporary painter. Born in 1977, lives in the south of France.
"My work develops in the form of series essentially articulated around two constants:
- The color black and white .
- The deconstruction of the pictorial surface.
The exclusive use of black and white is induced by research initiated over 10 years ago on the tone and luminance, the directness and the essentials of the phenomenon.
As for the deconstruction of the surface, it engages the spectator in a duality of figuration / abstraction which quickly finds itself useless for apprehending the work and questions, therefore, the relationship to the Real and its representation.
This "permanent return from detail to the whole" makes it possible to find "the place of the glance" which teaches on its own perception. "
